This is a pilot flight with a seven-day quarantine policy by Ministry of Health for passengers who have already received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

Accordingly, all passengers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (with the second dose injected at least 14 days and no more than 12 months prior to entry date) and negative COVID-19 tests (with RT-PCR/RT-LAMP method) certified by the host country’s competent authorities 72 hours before their departure.

They were taken to the Novotel Ha Long Hotel in the province for seven-day quarantine (down by 7-14 days compared to the normal process, depending on COVID-19 variants in their host country) upon their arrival.

The whole process of receiving and taking passengers into the quarantine area was carried out in a professional and orderly manner, in strict compliance with the Government’s direction and the Ministry of Health’s guidance.

In response to the pandemic and the risks of the spread of its variants, the airport has applied epidemic prevention and control measures to the highest level.

Since the beginning of 2021, the airport has welcomed a total of 228 flights with 45,872 passengers including Vietnamese citizens from epidemic-hit countries and foreign experts.

Van Don Airport is expected to receive upcoming flights carrying citizens from the US.
